Hey there,

It's cousin Del, I really wish I could be at the reunion but I foresee being here in wonderful Iraq for a few more weeks.  I wanted to say hi and thanks for the update, I've got no idea who's idea the greencorn tamale web was but it is way cool.

Great to hear from you Del. I'm so sorry you won't be with us. It's been far too long since we've seen you and your family. If you send me  any news or updates about your life, I'd love to post it in the News  area of the website (and I modestly take credit for the website - I'm  having fun with it). Do you have a Facebook page or can you send us a  photo of yourself or is all that classified? I don't know how  communication with soldiers works... Would you mind if I put your  

address out to the clan so people can write to you?

You did a great job with the web hosting that is incredible.  Oh man are you guys on the FACEBOOK as well, that stuff is like crack!  I can't believe how many friends from High School are on the silly thing as well as lots of the family.  Lori, Dené Mike and I both have FB accounts.  I'll be looking up the rest of the family now as well.

Nico Trevizo, Carla’s son, Rudy’s grandson, won 1st place in a skateboarding contest yesterday.  He had surgery on both wrists at the beginning of the year and has only been back at it for a month.  He is pretty proud of himself as are we. Denise Chadwick, Ginny’s youngest daughter, Rudy’s granddaughter, will be on ABC September 15th on a show called "Shaq vs."

Ginny's sychronized swimming team, the Potomac Valley Pearls, (Denise is a swimmer, Ginny is the coach) was filmed for a segment called “Shaq vs. Michael Phelps.” Denise is 2nd from the left in the photo of Shaquille O'Neal and standing on Michael Phelps’ right in that photo.

Robbie Barnes, son of Kay and John Barnes, grandson of Bernida and Bill Childers, married Jessica Sutherland in Mercer, Wisconsin on July 31, 2009. They celebrated again in California at the Barnes family home on the Jenner coast. The couple lives in Sacramento, California where Jess catches snakes for the CA Water Dept. (she’s a biologist) and Rob is a state firefighter.

September 13, 2009  Michael “Mike” F. Sherman

Michael “Mike” F. Sherman, a resident of Huntington Beach, Calif., passed away Sept. 13, 2009, at the age of 70 after a long and courageous battle with illness.

He was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Safford to Ralph B. Sherman and Veronica Hart Sherman. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Madeline Clare. They met while working at O’Riley Chevrolet in Tuscon and married October 7, 1967. The same year they moved to Southern California, where they made their home and raised their children. Mike retired from S & J Chevrolet in Cerritos, Calif., in 2001.

Mike is survived by his son, Scott Michael Sherman; daughter, Theresa Ann Suskind; son-in-law, Brian Wesley Suskind; granddaughter, Clara Elizabeth Suskind; grandson, John “Jack” Patrick Suskind; brother, James Sherman; and sisters, Peg Brady, Kathleen McLennon and Barbara Pon.

Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Sherman, Donald Patrick Sherman and William Sherman; and sister, Marian Flanagan.

The burial was held at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif.
